The Afrolatin@ Forum's Visibilizing AfroLatin@s Working Group seeks to improve the ways in which the Census and other official documents and scholarship identify and track racial inequalities within the Latinxs community. We are particularly interested in 1) understanding the conditions under which Afro-Latinxs identify as Black in survey research, and 2) tracking racial inequalities among Latinxs.

The team has designed a 90-question survey piloted in Brooklyn and the Bronx and is currently in the process of analyzing data and drafting a manuscript based on findings.
